Alright, well a friend of mine from Boston was down this week with his girlfriend visiting her parents. So yesterday I decided to rescue him and head over to Brian Piccolo Velodrome which is about 30 min from my house and about 20 from where he was staying. As has been mentioned here before this place was deserted, not a person was even near the velodrome to watch over us or anything. That is until someone saw us riding without helmets, then there was this one fairly round man that stood watching over us while talking on his cellphone. We had no idea what we were doing and I kind of wish someone who did know what they were doing were there so that I could at least have learned something. But we had a blast anyway, the weather was a bit on the hot side but not too bad, the turns were pretty banked and you had to be going pretty fast to be perpendicular to the banks. We also had no idea how exhausting one lap around the damned thing was! I could only manage to do two laps at full blast before I felt like I was going to throw up. For only three dollars and hours of fun!!! I'm bringing my bike everytime I come down here. If anyone ever has the chance to go you really can't pass it up. Here are the pics that I promised not too many. . . but enough. oh yah I'm the one in the shorts

here's the site: https://www.kissena.info/track/index.html

doesn't seem very helpful, i couldn't find the information, but i didn't look at it very long. kissena's website is a constant source of frustration for me...i can never find what i'm looking for.

333.3m according to https://www.broward.org/parks/velodrome.htm. I'm going to make a weekend of it one of these days.

dwguy - It is actually pretty far from the coast, like about 30 miles but it's in south florida so there are huge skies and palm trees everywhere.

adamkell- This weekend is my last here before I move to spain, but if you came down I would go with you. It would be cool to get a bunch of kids and have races because, like I said, nobody goes there.

I would definitely drive down if I wasn't celebrating my and my girlfriend's birthdays this weekend. Any velodromes in your region of Spain?

I wish I could do that round here. The nearest track is over 100 miles away and it's outdoors, fine in the summer but given the amount of rain we've had recently it's a no-no. Luckily there are three indoor tracks in Britain (including Manchester which was built for it's Olympic bid and used for the Commonwealth Games, so it's pretty damn good), but they're all over 250 miles away. If I was stupendously rich I built an indoor one in my back yard

If you have a chance, why don't you try it also on a "high-speed velodrome"

damn! Now you'll have to go there!
YAY!
And when you are done, go down to Tejon and get some pizza and beers. Or swank it up at Blue Star.
See ya there! If I was there...
