Trying to find a decent set of bars to throw on for non-sprint events. What are some of your guys' favs?

Just use your favorite pair of road bars. Pretty sure that's what everyone does if they aren't using something enduro-specific like sphinxes.

Your choices are pretty wide:

Material?
Width?
Compact, standard, or deep drop?
Classic or ergo bend?

Whatever you choose, choose 40cm. 44cm is too wide on the track, IMHO.

Yeah, my drops on my road bike are 44cm.

I cannot IMAGINE running them on a track. I'd just feel like a snow plow killing everybody. My "sprint" bars are 38cm.

I'm thinking of giving the FSA Omega Compact a try.

3T Ergosums have been favorite compact so far. They don't have the wing shape on the top so they're good for Madison. Also a decent reach.

For more traditional rounds bars PRO 7s vibes in round are incredible. I have them on my roadie and will probably get some in 40cm for the track sometime in the near future.

I run FSA Omega compacts on my old road bike that now sits in a trainer. They're 44s but they're pretty good for stiffness. I got a cheap 2nd hand set of FSA wing compacts for my track bike for trining. I have 3T scattos, but when you're just grinding out laps, they're not too comfy. The wings are quite flexy in the 40cm size I have, and are a lot more flexy than the omegas I have on the old roady. Another to consider would be PRO Vibe 7s compact. I've got a set of these on my new road bike in 44s. They're really stiff, and if I was going for another set for my track bike, I'd definitely give these a look. They can be found nice and cheap and come in narrow sizes too. The 31.8mm diameter section runs for the whole top of the bars, so they'd be road comfy position, but stiff enough when you needed to get out of the saddle

I'm surprised that the feedback regarding the FSA's is that they're flexy. Would a narrower bar be less flexy?

i run fsa omegas compact on my track bike too.
i bought them because they come in 38cm (i ride 40-42 on my road bikes).

theyre surprisingly comfy; i may even get a wider pair or two for some of my other bikes. oh and they may be flexy, but certainly not enough for my 155lb weakling ass to notice, and I consider myself a sprinter on the road.

The FSA wing compacts (the ones with the flat top section) are flexy, but in comparison, the Omegas are pretty stiff. Not sprint bar stiff, but still pretty good.

Pro Vibe 7S Round - practically made for the track. VERY stiff, and rounded shoulders for sprinting out of the saddle in the drops. I run the Thor Hushovd edition, not sure if they're any stiffer than normal.

Brawlo- Yeah these will be for mass start stuff, so as long as they're "stiff enough"

I have B123AA's for a sprint bar... those are plenty stiff
