Im going to go out on a limb here and say this statement is incorrect...

usually only about the top 5 sprinters go sub 11" on the 200m at Elite Nats..

take a look at the International Omnium results for the flying 250m and it looks like only Bobby L. is riding at sub 11" 200m pace.. (thats based on 2011- the last time i can find results that are relevant)

Its pretty hard to imagine them hitting those speeds at the end of a 100lap points race..

Track sprinters usually don't get a five lap lead out though...

Have you ever heard of a race called the keirin?

I guess I should keep climbing to a minimum while I race. on a more practical note, a big injury during climbing would definitely take me out of service for cycling. Only injury so far has been a pulley injury on my right ring finger, but I've seen a few twisted ankles.....
Climbing is more complementary for cycling (core strength) than cycling to climbing. No harm in doing both if you have the time, but if you have limited time then riding needs to be where your time is spent...

Okay, yea, forgot about that. Maybe breaking 11 is a bit of a stretch for an enduro.

Cycling was always the priority and climbing was more a social thing with my friends.
