I watched Sunday's racing - the racing seemed to shake out quite differently than one-day racing from what I could tell on twitter from the other days and the video from last night. More races-wthin-races for sure.
Tactically, I would have thought there would be a bit more cooperation between teams in the final madison to isolate the US, they got isolated, but it was from chasing each team individually. On that note, I was impressed that the US team did hold on for as long as they did - it wasn't until to the last two laps or so that the other pair completed the lap.
Also of interest to me, it was fascinating how big the gap was between track specialists whom I know to be very strong and the Euro-pro level guys... big, big gap.
Another one - Marvulli is on the tail end of his career, I didn't see much live action from last year's 6-day circuit, just results... but when he goes now it doesn't look the way it used to.
Oh, 4-person kierin races? They seriously couldn't find another two-three strong guys in So-Cal in fill the start-line out? The tactics in those races were all wacky because 4th wheel isn't really that far back from the head of the race... stick a strong guy in 7th wheel and the attacking starts a lot sooner.
