My local indoor Velodrome is a 250 timber track open year round (Darebin International Sports Centre - Joe Ciavola Velodrome Melbourne Australia). The other indoor Velodrome in Melbourne is in a multi use venue which only gets used for World Cups and a few other large events...

Schedule is posted every week and is $5 per hour casual visit when not being used by the state squad, clubs or racing.

https://www.vic.cycling.org.au/Portal...ust25_2014.pdf

Racing is either $10 or $15 per night depending on the club running it with some of that cash going back into the prize pool...

There are gear cages, but only available to clubs...

I think the pricing is fair, just a bit of a jump from the places I hang out today

Another shot of the 'insides' of the track.

Also for any locals, they have a schedule up for track classes if you know anyone wanting to get on this winter.

Home - Milton Velodrome

They want $250/year for a locker. Would be nice to leave wheels, pump etc at the track but that's a lot. I still plan to ride other tracks so I wouldn't be able to leave my bike there all the time anyway, so we'll see if I get tired of dragging my bike there.

Drop in session pass is $400, and all structured training is extra. Is this how other major tracks work too? The other tracks I race are more 'club' feel but are nothing like this kind of facility. What is LA like for costs? Or the really nice tracks in AUS?

From lavelodrome.org

Annual Pass:
Annual passes are the way to go for anyone who rides our velodrome with any type of frequency. The pass covers all of your ride time and is well worth your investment. The passes are available at a monthly rate which runs for the course of a year from the date of purchase. You may also pay your membership in full and you save 15%.
$45.00/month $35.00/month for Volunteers*

One month membership:
$55.00

Pay Per ride:
$20/Session

FELT Bike Rental:
$10/session
Roger's Training (structured interval training) was $6 per session and I think if you have a membership you pay less for the rental bike

So when 2014 Nationals happen in 2015, can I rent a sofa or floor space?

Kind of a bummer, but the track wont be ready for the UCI event or Nationals in October. Not overly surprised but disappointed.

Canadian Cyclist milton-velodrome-cycling-programs-postponed

Infrastructure Ontario and Toronto2015 have advised that the PanAm Test Events scheduled for October 16-25 (Milton International Challenge Oct 17-19 and Track Nationals Oct 22-25)) will be postponed until early in the New Year.

To accommodate this change the Town of Milton is adjusting its fall cycling programs and will be moving the opening day community event from November 1 to November 29.

Im not entirely sure the UCI event is worth doing in January. World Cup 3 is on the 17th, are teams really going to come to Canada for a CL1 event in the middle of world cup? Or maybe its a good thing, as now I can do the omnium without getting completely destroyed (only mostly..) It was perfect for October as it was before world cup and was a way to get qualifying points, but I dont see why any high level team would travel for meaningless points in January.

Spare room/couch is available, lets talk when they figure out a date(s)

Would anyone happen to know how to get tickets to a medal round/day of my choice? I've looked at the ticket requesting and would like to purchase tickets to see the medal rounds (finals) preferably for the sprinting and/or TT'ing and pursuits. But I'm unsure of which day those events will fall on; it says there's medal rounds Thursday through Friday of July next year. Is there a way to figure this out or do I just pick a day and hope for the best? Thanks in advance.

I just saw that tickets were available. I can offer no assistance, but if you can please update this with any info you find. I am looking to purchase tickets tomorrow.

Thanks for the detailed schedule. I did not see that. Pricing is still confusing me a bit. Friday looks good. Also would like to see some of the Keirin races.

Thanks for the link! Friday definitely looks like the most rounded and exciting day. I'll probably go for that too, thanks

Pricing goes by the 'quality' of the seat that's offered, meant by where you'll be seated.
The highest prices are for "Cat A" seats in blue, and the lowest are for "Cat D" in orange, etc. But by the pictures that gtrob just uploaded, all seats look great!

That's actually Curt Harnett and Steve Bauer doing a lap about a month ago. That was a lap only ride and the attached is a video from a couple of days ago.. Bauer riding for 10 minutes. I believe there is a test event coming up and they are starting to do rider certifications in November and December I believe

Yes, I have registered for the certification and an Intermediate training course already, and was disappointed when they all got postponed. Now the certification happens in December, and the training courses start in January.

I live only a 5 minute ride away, and can't wait for this to be completed.
And I've already purchased (or requested) tickets for PANAM games as well. And the non-ticketed TT will literally pass by my home. I'm really excited.

What would a guy like me need to race at an event like this? I'm guessing they won't be as lenient as FCV about not having an international license. Would I be able to race as a cat 2?
