wahoo kickr brake-lock/spindown problem
hi all,
have been using my kickr heavily in the month since I bought it. was working perfectly until this morning when I mounted the thing to do a workout. the resistance on the wheel was absurd - could barely turn the pedals and research indicated that the "brake" was locked and doing another spindown may help. so I did the spindown but noticed that the offset read as "0 ticks" compared to all of the other times I have performed the spindown where it reads in the neighborhood of "450 ticks." I repeated the spindown numerous times as well as trying all of the "regular" solutions (disconnecting, restarting, etc.). has anyone had this problem with the kickr??
somewhat irritated that my $1000+ piece of equipment will not even allow me to turn the pedals... oh well, looks like I may have to dig up the KK magnetic trainer.
thanks,
john

no reply from them as of yet - have heard that they can take quite some time to get back to people so I figured I'd ask here in the interim

Same thing happened to me a month or so ago. Your board is fried. They will send you a new one for free - takes just a minute or two to replace.

I was on vacation last the last couple of weeks and climbed onto my Kickr today to do a 20 min test and it was very difficult to turn the pedals and was not connecting to iPad/TrainerRoad. I touched the rear of the trainer near the fly wheel and it was very warm. I unplugged the Kickr and pedals and the resistance was light again. I plugged back in and same problem immediately reoccurred. I tried syncing with multiple devices but none of them detect it anymore.
I called Wahoo but no answer so left a message and waiting to here back. Hopefully an easy fix...
