    Rebuilding a knee

Well I took a pretty tasty spill in a wrestling match that led to a dislocated knee, which is very bad. But I was wondering if it would be safe/ok to ride after a couple of days rest to rebuild the muscles/tendons in it to get them stronger again. I wouldn't be able to do hard rides for a while, but I could do some gentle hills and flats right?

    See a doctor.
My brother dislocated his knee in high school. He didn't take care of it, and reinjured it several times in the following years. In the end, he had to have surgery. He now has a metal pin in his leg and his knee will never be 100% again.

Moral of the story: a dislocated knee is not something to f**k around with. Go see a doctor.

I had a dislocated knee and so I saw a knee specialist and what he said was that he would not be able to assess my situation until I had recover from the injury first. So after the recovery he said that if I had anything that was affecting my mobility then I would need to see him. And I did go back to see him a loose cartilege was floating around and was causing my knee to lock up. So I had surgery to remove that. Then I went to a physical therapist to rehab my injury. I had a lot of scar tissue from the dislocation so the therapy was to aid in tearing up the scar tisssue to promote recovery. After that I went on a weight program to rebuild the muscles that were affected from the injury. Cycling was definitely a strong factor for my recovery.
