I had a pair. They didn't seem to last long, and the bike shop said they are great for racing, but they just don't hold up under a lot of miles. I think I'd just put in a couple of thousand miles, which is not a lot to me.

I use Michelin Pro Race tires on my bikes and absolutely love them. I also use them on Century rides, so they have been ridden through all kinds of road conditions and I have been very lucky - especially last year with only puncturing a sidewall at Mt. Washington and experiencing no other flats.

I just put on the new 2005 version which supposedly are improved and are promised to last longer. I agree with Koffee- that they could last a little longer mileage- but I love the performance and the "lack of flats" that I have had with them this far. Maybe the 2005's will "really" be longer lasting, if not I would still continue to use them anyways.

I don't know what others have experienced, maybe I have just been lucky.

I got about 5,000km out of my rear when I changed it mostly because it had a few cuts that "might become a problem. Front has 8,000km and I keep going to the lbs to ask them when I should change it and they keep saying still good. Not even squared off too much. Starting to show some cracking so I guess it's time will come shortly.

i have the michelin pro tires - absolutly no problems with them at about 1500 miles so far. i train with them every day and only flatted once in that time. so far so good...

I've been riding Michelins for the last 3 years, and love 'em. I'm 170 lbs, and average about 2000 miles from the rear tires, and a bit more from the front. They are, however, a "performance" tire, not a "high mileage" tire.

If you ride where it's hilly or mountainous, you'll really appreciate them. They're light, and they stick really well in the corners. If you ride where it's flat, or where there's lots of road debris, they might not be your best choice.

I would recommend them for training, though... just get several of them when they're on sale.

My front tire is still going strong. It's the back tire that needed the change right away.

I'm another fan of Michelin Pros and Pro Race. Not the longest lasting tire, but I like the ride and the road feel of them. In my opinion, they seem particularly susceptable to punctures on wet pavement. For training, just find a cheaper tire with a tougher, more carbony (more like car tire rubber) compound.

I've got the Pro on the front and the Carbon on the back. About 1250 miles on them this winter and still look pretty good. Better then the Conti's I had before.

Training? Get a cheap tire. Unless you have a lot of money to blow. I certainly don't have $35 to spare on a tire.

I think they're too soft for training. At least on the roads around here. I prefer the Michelin Carbon. They're just as fast, wear much harder, and are much cheaper. They don't corner as well, but it's fair trade off for the extra miles.

I've got a measley 250 miles on a new pair, and I love them. Highly recommended.

Sign me up for liking the pro's & a good recommendation. I got 2500+ miles on mine - still going strong. Best of all - I trust the traction it gives me.

I REALLY like the road feel, very cushy. My 23s are softer riding than another brand's 26s.

the tires are good, I have put on like 4,000 k, on my Michellin Pro Race and it has still some life left in it.
