Weight question
I found the following assertion on a website devoted to exercise "myth-busting":
Do you guys agree with this?
To build muscle, you have to use weights that you can lift no more than eight to twelve times in a row. "If you can go beyond the twelfth repetition, the resistance is too light to stress the muscle," says Hurley. "As your muscles get stronger, you need to add more weight-or other resistance-so you can still do only eight to twelve repetitions.

aghhhh ummmm maybe sometimes depending. It depends on what type of muscle building you want to do. If you want just strength or you want visible mass. They are 2 diferent muscle types and 2 different workouts.

Kind of. You'll make the most and quickest progress with low reps and high weights, stressing your fast twitch muscles. But in order not to need excessive recovery while my emphasis is on bike performance, I am personally working at high reps (12-15) these days, but I believe I am making steady, if slow, progress in terms of weight lifted.

Absolutely. If you continue to get stronger, your body has no choice but to adapt this higher workload provided you nourish yourself well enough.
