Clif Bar Shelf Life

Hey all. Quick question about Clif Bars. And for the people who hate them, please leave it out of this thread. This isn't meant to start a debate over what the best bar is. I just wanted to know if I really need to follow the expiration date on the clif bars. The expiration dates for mine were anywhere from July-September but I've had them in relatively dry and cool conditions.

I ask because I bought a whole bunch off amazon last fall and never ate them. Well I'll try to finish them now if the expiration date being passed doesn't mean they lose any type of flavor, nutrients, or cause health "problems". I really doubt any of those to be the case but if anyone has had any experience with this I'd greatly appreciate his/her advice. Thanks.

I don't know anything about health issues, but I have noticed that Clif bars taste better when fresh. They tend to start tasting stale as they approach the expiration date.

I grabbed a few Clif bars before heading out on a hike. When it got time to eat them, noticed they were expired, but they were all we had. Unfortunately, they were growing mold on them Nothing quite like a fuzzy Clif bar. If they're all from the same batch, you can experiment when it doesn't really matter.

I buy them in bulk at the evil Megalo-Mart (.96 each), put them in zip-loc freezer bags and freeze them.

No big deal.
