Training While Sick?

How soon afetr you are sick do you resume training? I had a nasty cold since Saturday night with a low grade fever for two days. General head congestion and weakness and a little bit of chest congestion as well. It is now thursday and I am by no means 100% but maybe 70-80%. Is it harmful to resume training now? Should I wait until I am further over the hump. My main concern is prolonging the illness. This is the first hiccup I have had since I began training more seriously after a successful racing season last year. I want to maximize my gains this winter and not have too many set backs. Thanks for any input you might have.

Not a great answer but you'll find that some jump right back in and others do not.

For me, at my age, I rest until I've had one full day feeling "normal", then I ease back into things for a day or two. On day three, I'll evaluate how I'm feeling and if it's a go, then I get back on high intensity again.

By no means is this at all scientific but I was sick last week with a head cold. I felt a little better so I did 1/2 hour on the eliptical. I felt ok but the next day my cold got worse and I was down for another 3 days. Next time I will wait.
