It's tough when your #1. Everyone's gunning for ya. We were also #1 in violent crimes a few years back. Maybe they killed all the unhealthy people.
FWIW: Some think it's the water but it's the crabs hon! Balto charlie

Which crabs are you referring to? If my memory serves me, Baltimore was once considered the capital of sexually transmitted diseases.

Before anyone jumps all over this.. it's not that we hate fat people. We just don't like them.
Ok that's not true either. The point isn't to kill them all and fill up a big pit with them. The point is, it's unhealthy when you can't walk up 2 flights of stairs, etc.
So before some obese person with a big fat obese oversensitivity to this subject jumps all over this topic like some big obese person on a ham, consider this, it's for your own good too.
Ok, blame environment, blame genes, etc, but you're in control of your own life.
Poor people are fat... give me a break, if you're that poor, you oughta be a stick.

1. Seattle 6
2. Honolulu 1
3. Colorado Springs 5
4. San Francisco 2
5. Denver 4
6. Portland 8
7. Sacramento 10

I live in the Sacramento area. No surprise to be high on the list of fittest cities. We have near 50 miles of bike trail along the rivers, the weather allows for training almost every day of the year, and it's close to great skiing, hiking, and lots of other outdooor activities.

Portland is more or less a mecca of running. Denver, trade demographics show folks in Denver really enjoy outdoor activities. San Francisco, well, I've been there many times. It is a place that is easily acccessible by walking and public transit with plenty of hills to make it a bit of work, and without trying to be un-PC, the gay culture is very strong there and well, gay men tend to be less fat and a bit more aware of fitness. Colorado Springs has the Olympic training center with athletes all over the place so I'm sure that's an influence. Honolulu? I dunno. It's mainly a business district and Hawaiian food tends towards fatty, but there is the beach. Seattle, I dunno. Maybe they don't have anything to do when it's raining besides riding their spinning bikes at the gym.

As for the south, have you noticed their foods? You can have anything you want, as long as it's fried.

I noticed that Louisville, Kentucky was pretty high on the list of fit cities. I found that strange until I noticed that they did not take the level of smoking into consideration. It's hard to escape cigarettes in Louisville even if you don't smoke.
