Don't Eat This Book, written by Morgan Spurlock, the famous producer and director of the movie Supersize Me. He did a study around eating nothing but McDonald's food for 30 days.

How many have read the book? How many have seen the movie? Your thoughts, comments would be greatly appreciated.

I liked the movie although, to large extent, he is "preaching to the choir" with it. The only real criticism that I had about the movie was that it did not explore positive alternatives. It stuck too much to the "fast food is bad" exposition and that does not surprise many of us, although perhaps its a revelation to sedentary gen-y'ers.

In general, I think that if Mr Spurlock is going to criticize, he should make an equal effort to show alternatives. What does one eat on long road trips? How do you make a healthy meal for a dollar? What can establishments like Mcdonald's do to correct the problem?

Perhaps the book covers that. Does it? If so, it might be a good companion to the film.

His book does speak quite a bit about more healthy alternatives. His wife who, by the way, is a vegan prepared a lot of his meals before he did the study and worked feverishly to "detoxify" him after the study was over. He says to more or less "pack it and take it with you" rather than to have to stop every two hundred miles for a "refill".

    you forgot star!

    It was an entertaining movie..
I'd say McDonalds is eaten less now (if it is eaten less now!) more so because its unfashionable to eat it rather than because of its nutritional value (or lack thereof).

Its cool to be PC or socially aware at the moment and that means no McDonalds.
Also, people in general are spending more and living more luxurious lifestyles (you know, the latte crowd) and Mickey D's is definitely not part of that culture.

If they wanted to help their image they should work on that rather than their stupid health menu that is full of crap anyway. Not that I would want to help them as I can't stand anything about the company or the food.

Too bad for morgan tho, I saw a couple of the shows on his spin off tv series... looks like he's running out of ideas.
