Trouble Reaching Zone 4 on Trainer

I can get there but just cant seem to hold it above TT range on the Trainer. I am concerned that this will effect my ability to test for VO2 max. On any given day I can hop off the trainer go outside and get HR to any desired zone. Is it all in my head or is there something different with the trainer?

I have noticed the same thing about indoors and outdoors. The trainer is really a more measured effort, no headwind, tailwind or crosswind, no uphills, no downhills, no corners, no stops, nobody to chase down or keep up with, all zones reached on pure willpower with no distractions. Keep at it, you will have good days and bad days, good weeks and bad weeks. Make sure that you include rest days on the trainer just as you would outside and make every fourth week a light week after progressively increasing your efforts in the previous weeks. Within a given week, efforts should also be progressive and include at least one light or rest day on the cycle. A ride on the trainer at goal Heart Rates is equivalent to a ride and a half outside.

I dont typicaly train on it. Here in va one can pretty much ride the roads year round(schedule permiting). My thoughts were that there is no eb and flow on a trainer, but mimicking that didnt seem to help. My legs just seem to give out prematurely on a trainer. At TT trial effort I feel like I am going into the redzone and I have to back it down a bit. During actual TTs I usualy have to convince myself to slow down a bit at first. My body currently can go for 1.5 hours at TT effort on the road. I understand that my enviornment has an effect, but could it realy have this much effect? I thought maybe I was overheating and added a fan, no help there. So should I trust my perceived rate of exertion over HR? Does anybody know how this problem will apply to testing VO2? I dont want to shell out 115 bucks if I wont be able to sustain long enough to complete the test.
Thanks
