Off-bike for two weeks, big training gap
I'm going to be incapacitated for at least a week, probably two, and will not have be able to do any walking or riding for that time. One of my legs is going to not be so functional, the other one will be fine. How in the world can I maintain my current level of training while I'm recovering? Would riding a bike with only one leg clipped in on an indoor trainer at least substitute partially for my bike training/cardio?
It's really going to be horrible not riding for a couple weeks. It's been nonstep every day for over half a year now and it's hard to imagine not biking for even two days. Oh well more time for web surfing and getting fat
Please give me any suggestions you have, anything helps!
Cheers, Al

You won't lose much fitness at all with only a 2 week layoff. The opposite is true as well: you won't gain much fitness if you only trained for 2 weeks.
Relax.

Maybe use the time for some areas you normally don't focus on-- core strength training such as ab work, Pilates, stretching, or yoga are fantastic exercises.

you may find that after a break, you come back mentally stronger and ready to ride because you'll miss it. In addition to working on core strength, you could start planning your workout schedule for the coming year, researching races, etc.

Are there any supplements that would help to keep my muscles from breaking down from not using them? Or is protein enough?

This is good to hear. I'm going to be forced off the bike for two weeks in July and there are some races shortly after that I want to do.
