Extreme foot pain

I know, Just goto the Doc. Well, Im going to but just wanted to lay it down here as well. I am having some horrible foot pain. My Right foot, Inside, about in the center. If you feel your inner ankle bone, its a half inch lower towards the floor. Theres actually another little bone below it. Well, that bone below the bigger ankle bone is so tender I cannot touch it. My range of motion is less as well. When my foot is on the floor and I raise my toes up, its horrible.

Imagine lifting off the gas pedal to hit the brake. When I do that, Its unreal. I have not jumped on it. I only rode 30 miles the entire last week. 100 the week before but I have not landed on it the wrong way, or anything. I do not remember any pain or anything. It just started getting sore 3 days ago and now its sore all the way up into my knee.

What the heck? Anyone?

Thanks

You won't find much help with the information given. See a doc. If you're not a regular at the doc, see if any riding buddies know of a sports oriented orthopaedist (most likely what you'll be refered to) in your area. Some docs are way too conservative with recovery times and activity levels.

The two things that come to my mind as common problems in this area are Achilles Tendonitis or Plantar Faciitis, but I certainly wouldn't assert it's either of these. If the problem isn't getting better, you definitely should see a doctor.

I go to the Doc Monday. I will resume riding as it does not hurt to ride. However, Im worried that the riding is causing it.

Sucks

I had this when I was running . . . and my doctor suggested that I take up cycling and yoga and stretch after every exercise.

Do you clip? When I was riding hard in a spinning class, I had this a little until I bought clip shoes. I also started having it a little when I was riding high mileage every day. I've learned a lot about general imbalances in my body. Clip shoes, yoga, cross-training, strength training have all helped this.

Only a doctor can tell you for sure. It might be an over-use injury that starts from an imbalance (favoring one side).

Also, an appointment with a good massage therapist can help ease the symptoms.

Do you think that it may be because of a sprain or some other soft tissue injury. Is there any heat or swelling accompanied with it? What kind of pain is it shooting, throbbing, burining, etc...

What part of your knee is hurting is it the outside inside etc...

As well try flexing one toe at a time and see if it all toes are involved or it is just one or one set

I have the nail bed of my great toe turn black when I ride a lot I still have not figured that one out. Maybe, for now try imobilising it when you do not need to be active. Mabe the old R.I.C.E that may help.

No I am not a medical anything, I am just being curious. If I was though you would owe me some money, as well take 2 and call me in the morning.

I hope it does not keep you from riding, that would be the worst possible scenario.

Im ridin in a sec, I have to see if it hurts, just a 20 miler. No swelling, period, when I flex it, it hurts, up or down. Right in that area. Nothing but that one area at the base near the ankle bone. Toes are good. Knee hurts behind, leg.
Pain is constant, like a headache in the foot.
