Calf Muscle Tendon needs Help !
I think it's the calf muscle tendon. I strained it about two weeks ago while riding. It was a little sore but I didn't think much about it. Two days later I was playing a little football, actually the first play, when I popped it a little. At first I thought it was the muscle pulling. But during the two week recovery (missed my flag football championship game...) it seemed as though the muscle was fine and the issue was more towards the back of the knee.
Anybody have experience in this type of injury?

What do you mean by calf muscle tendon? Do you mean your achilles tendon, running from your calf muscles to you heal? If so, search here under achilles tendon. If so, don't continue to exercise if you feel any pain. You need to rest it, or it can become chronic. Also try a google search.
Cheers,
Jamie

jmlee- I guess my anatomy is a little rusty. The achilles is fine for sure. The are of concern is just below the back of my left knee. I have been babying it for two weeks and just went for a ride today. I went out for about an hour and it felt really good. The big question is how well it will be tomorrow and when can I start running on it. I think I need to do some running/sprinting other than on football game day.
On another note, my calf muscles are in great shape from riding and I think I may have the strength required to go up against the "Ogre" in our football league. This guy has lost about 50 lbs through working out and is now down to 6-4 330lbs. He played arena ball for a while and now menaces our league. I'm about 6-2 235 right now and while I don't have the size, I am getting some pretty good strength, both upper and lower body. So, maybe I'll be able to stick him this season

Do you have a physiotherapist? I can usually talk ot mine and figure out exactly whats wrong and how to help it in just a phone call. If it just needs rest and excersise he tells me, if its serious i have to pay him to fix it

No. I don't have a physiotherapist. I'm a believer in physical therapy of my own design and some good old ice. Then I let the experts try to figure it out. Right now the leg feels pretty good. I'm going to ride again tomorrow for an hour or so. I need to get the football cleats on and run around the horse pen to get the muscles specific to running.
Thanks for everyone's input.
