another big ride in two weeks, best way to recover, be ready?

Did my fist century of the year yesterday, and have another hard ride in two weeks (78mi, three mtn passes -- http://coppertriangle.com), any suggestions in how best to recover and be ready? Can I spend this week building at all?

You can't do much to increase your fitness in the next two weeks, but you can do a lot to decrease your preparation.

My advice:

1) Do a recovery ride today or tommorrow. Something like an hour or so, and keep it *slow* - you should never get out of breath.
2) Repeat until your legs start feeling normal.
3) Pay attention to your nutrition. Extra carbs/protein aren't a bad thing if you're recovering.
4) Maybe do a 40-ish mile ride this weekend, but keep the effort low.

You want to get enough heat into your legs to help work out the kinks, but not really impose any training stress.

I did a 20-23ish recovery ride tonight, took it real slow. Legs are thick, but not sore, Gonna take tommorrow off, then Wed and Thurs I'm riding to work (30mi each day), Friday off, Saturday something with a hill or two (I have to think it will hinder me not getting any climbing in the next couple weeks), then the whole next week slow and easy miles. Should I omit the climbing on Saturday?
