So how do fure out how many I burn?
Basic info: 47 6'1" 175 15 year old low tech road bike (23 x 700 tires) Rural ride mostly flat 25 miles at 15 mph = 90-110 minutes LAR |

I think it calculates a little high, but it should get you in the ballpark. It calculates 1257. Cyclestats says about 850 for me, and I outweigh you by about 15 lbs. |
The "rule of thumb" for cycling is 40 calories per mile.

http://www.bicycling.com/channel/0,6...tion=_*topnav* There is a calorie counter. Plug in your speed, weight, time, and get a number. It is an estimate at best. Obviously if someone drove you to a top of a mountain and you coasted down….You get my point. But for general use, it OK. |
