Odd physical phenomenon

I noticed today as I got out of the shower and stood before the mirror that my right thigh is noticeably larger than my left. Not a huge amount as I've never noticed before, but a big enough difference that I can see it now. And probably will every time I get out of the shower now.

Has anyone else noticed this about thier own physique? Just curious...

Az

my right thigh is bigger than my left, but it's from years of only using that leg while skateboarding. sometimes when i ride i notice that my right leg is a little more dominant and does some extra work, too.

Unclip your right foot for a week.

No don't, I'm just kidding. You'd destroy your left knee.

I've been working out at the company gym at lunch for about a year, in addition to quite a few road miles. My left leg has become bigger than my right. Don't get why. All the gym equipment is machines and I do only two leg exersises. So I know each leg gets the same workout.

Do you mean both legs at once? If so your dominant leg is likely doing more of the work.

When I used to be real skinny my right calf was noticeably bigger. I jump off my left, kick a soccer ball with my right. Now it's just all covered in a thin layer of fat.

most people have slight limb asymmetries. I'm still trying to figure out why as a leftie (and I mean I do nearly everything lefthanded,) my right arm is bigger.

you might have a slight length difference in your legs that leads to one leg being dominant on the cycle and growing more. just a thought.

Yes thats what I meant. But, I'm right handed and pretty much anything I do one legged (kicking, pushing off, etc.) I do with my right leg. And it's the smaller one.

Same here...my right arm is about 30% stronger than my left on any dumbell exercise. Lemme know when you figure it out ...

Since 85% or so of people are right handed, R arm assymmetry is very common. Leg assymmetry less so,
might be worth while to get a tape measure and measure the circumference, you may be surprised comparing R/L at the same level. Most people are within a cm or so being the same. As another has commented, not everybody is a R-L mirror image, rib cages especially are frequently out of kilter due to minor curvatures of the thoracic or lumbar spine. Leg lengths can vary a bit, cm not uncommon.

My belly is bigger than my chest. That's odd isn't it?

My appetite is also bigger than my VO2max.

Is there a correlation?
