Am a food geek?
I realized, after I had hung up the phone that perhaps I'm a food geek. I had called the toll free number on my cous cous mix to verify the nutrion data was after it was prepared. Then this morning, I email my wife to get her to call me with the nutrition data for the tortilla I used for my sandwich this morning so I can enter it in fitday.com.

I am basing this reply on what a cyclist could eat for maximum power
and maximum recovery.....
no if you are eating cous cous and tortilla wraps you are not a food geek enough
a true food geek cyclist would avoid those items. there are much better foods out there.
what do I mean by that ? if you have to ask, then definitely you are not a food geek, more
like a food poseur.
food geeks avoid overly processed foods like the plague. both of your items are...bad mojo

Right, you should be eating nothing but flax seeds. Pounds every day.

My husband used to look at me funny when I'd disappear into the office with the package of whatever I'd just made for dinner -- say, a can of Manwich sauce or the bottle of salad dressing I just bought. Now he just smiles and says, "New fitday entry?"

There are two different types of Couscous, the grain, and the pasta. Thanks for making me admit my food geekiness, as I knew this before I looked it up on Wikipedia so I could get the backup link...

There is growing evidence that the worrying about what you eat is more damaging than eating the occasional treat. Of course people need to monitor what they eat, but some take it way too far. Lets say a ‘health nut’ slips up and eats a highly processed chocolate bar. The guilt and stress they feel may well be doing more damage than the ingredients (sat fat etc). Also they are missing out on some of the stress busting ‘pleasure chemicals’ that a person would normally get from a treat. My point is; choose your foods wisely, but when you do have a ‘sometimes’ food; just enjoy it.
Heck even if you eat nothing but raw, organic health food, you still die.
