How much?

How much would you pay for a new car? New SUV?

Now, how much would you pay for a new body? New heart? New cycling legs? New attitude?

Is this a bait and switch thing to get a new bike?

"Honey, look at this new Ford Behemoth SUV! 25 feet long, 8 feet wide, 30" ground clearance, and only $55,000? Let's get one! No? Well how about a $2,000 road bike?"

As I said in an earlier post, a friend of mine recently had a mild heart attack that ended up with a final cost of $18,000. Now, that would buy a nice bike.

For the SUV... if I had it to spend... whatever it would take to get a black Tahoe or Range Rover.

As for cycling... well I am about to find out. As I look at getting a coach, I am looking at at least a minimum of a $3000 per year and that is not including the purchase of a road bike to train on, a Polar S710 monitor (when availble), an indoor trainer, and of course all the health food and treats!

So I am watching my cycling expidature sheet in Excel increase steadily day by day as I find more ways to get my "new legs" and "new body" as a I return to cycling.

I went for my annual physical yesterday and the doctor was pleased with my weight loss and better overall health.
I don't think any SUV comes with a promise of better health.
So I'll take my chances with the bike and save a bundle to boot.
