Free Spare Tires!
...take it off my stomach and it's yours.
Anyways, I ride about 3-4 times a week outdoors when its nice, and I ride a trainer indoor when its cold for an hour at the same frequency.
I feel like my legs are getting a workout, but am I burning calories or rather losing fat around my stomach "my gut."
Exactly how is fat burn distributed?
Also just to note, I do weight training the days I don't ride.
Thanks!

Fat comes off all over. There's some areas with larger deposits like around your gut that doesn't trim down as fast as others because there was so much there to begin with. Removing 50% of the fat from your legs will give you a nice cut look. Removing 50% of fat from your stomach just turns the beer-belly into a mini-keg.
I wonder what really happens to all that fat they remove in liposuction operations?

I think this article may help you. It is called Dieting Disasters by Tony Gentilcore
It explains fat distribution and the TYPE of fat.

To be converted the fat has to frist pass through your liver where the conversion occurs. Hence, you don't just lose fat from around the area you are exercising, but all over. You may however, notice that your legs look a bit trimmer, this would be likely due to muscle development in the area.
Please note: It's been a while since I learnt this, apologies for any mistakes. But, you get the gist of it.
