Breath holding increases endogenous EPO?

Does anyone have any more information on this? A protocol or even just an abstract? I caught a data fragment and hit a bunch of dead ends.

This article https://www.nzmtc.com/INTERMITTEN_HYPOXIC_TRAINING.htm
had some info. Nothing real specific, but some hints as to direction. Looked
up hypoxicators, but look like $$, less than a power tap or mid weight wheel
though.
