Time Trial Training

What should I be doing for time trial training? I am a mountain biker turned triathlete, and from what I can tell, I should start incorporating some 8-10 minute power intervals into my training. From what I see on these forums, alot of people recommend two power intervals separated by a 2-5 minute rest.

What % of Max HR should I be in these poer intervals?

intervals can definitely help - there are lots of intervals that put you on (or around) your lactic acid threshold, and help you get better at buffering lactic acid. I'm assuming you have the pure aerobic training taken care of.

You can't really base this off of a max HR. When I've done this sort of training, I've used the CTS field test to figure out what the range is for me, and after I've done that for a while, I can get a decent idea based on what my legs feel like.

Aerobically, I am solid. I just came off a ten week base training plan for duathlon.

A roadie friend who is actually being trained by CTS told me about the field test. I may have to get off my lazy butt and do that. Thanks for the advice.

Here's another resource. Kevin Lippert has taken his website down, I think because of spamming, or maybe he's out of coaching. Anyway, here are his workouts, courtesy of the Wayback Machine:

Anybody visiting this thread, you really ought to go there and add this to your offline websites so you don't lose it.
