Starting my diet today... AGAIN! - Dropping these last 10lbs.
For several reasons, mainly lack of dedication, it's hard to drop these last 10 pounds. Back on Jan 1st 2004, I weighed 215 and for the next year, I lost 40 lbs. I now weigh 175 but would like to be ~165. I've started and stopped several "diets" since the beginning of the year, trying to get to a better cycling weight, and by looking in the mirror after a shower, I can spare a few anyway. I've been eating anything and everything I can get my hands on, especially sweets. I know it's not healthy but I am addicted, lol.
Anyway, I decided to post this for a more set-in-stone start and maybe for motivation, knowing I will post my progress once a week 'til I reach my goal. So here it goes...
BTW FYI I am 34, 5' 10", broad shoulder frame (46cm bars)
I will fill in the weights below every 7 days until I reach my goal.
**************************************
PROGRESS
05-13-07 Start
175lbs
05-20-07
171lbs
05-27-07
Vacation (didn't weigh)

Vacation (didn't weigh)
06-10-07
170.8lbs (new scales)

you lost 45 lbs and lack motivation for the last 10? All you have to do is ride and obey your thirst and hunger responsibly. Change your relationship to your food. Food is fuel for the bike. Will sweets fuel your recovery or next ride?
And the last 10 may be elusive forever. Wait til you get closer to 40 and beyond. Weight dosen't matter as much as where it is.
Besides, if you are eating everything/anything you want and are holding steady at 175, then you are living life!
the hold grail of 165....

I would follow riphraph's advice dude.
But even so I am very interested in knowing your progress and how you are adjusting your diet and training to reach your goal. Also, where exactly is your current fat residing now?

Actually, I'm busy myself in losing the last 10 pounds. Currently the last stubborn 10 is surrounding my love handles as well as the upper thighs. Right now though I see my training shifting from solely aerobic to more and more of anarobic or weight training.
My body fat percentage is much lower now than when I first started losing weight. But with logging readings from my innerscan weight scale all this time I've also been recording readings of muscle percentage. Its ok for me to lose weight as long as I can maintain the muscle percentage and better yet to increase it.
I think that is going to be the key for you to conquer the last 10 lbs tivo. Oh, and get over the sweets crap ok? If you want carbs then eat some apples or some dates. When I get the munchies and I don't want to eat crapola then I either grab a fruit or I slice a piece of green pepper or yellow or orange and spread a little low sugar low carb peanut butter on it.
Its actually a great tasting snack!

Thanks for your advice. I do understand that's what I need to do, but I am so close to my goal, I guess it makes it more difficult knowing I can eat what I want and not gain. Thanks for all your posts and support, you see now I have to live up to my original post and reply with my progress in 6 days. We'll see what happens.
