Should I cut out dairy?

Hi how are things, I am wondering if I might have some sort of reaction to milk. I have been eating very little dairy in the last few months and then at the weekend I had 2+ litres of milk. I now feel like crap. I have what seems to be a cold except it is not really. Headache - I never get headaches. Phlegmy, runny nose etc. Sore throat. It seems I definitely have some sort of reaction. The question is, should I cut out dairy altogether? Thanks - ed

I suggest you record your symptoms and then stay off diary for a while. Once the symptoms have passed, you can try some diary again and see what happens.

The time relationship between two variables (ie., I drank milk and then got sick) doesn't really establish a link. By going off and on a few times can give a better sense of there being a link. You may have been coming down with something regardless of what you ate and it is likely that you've eaten other things than the milk and you have been exposed to lots of other variables. So, to try to establish a link between your symptoms and diary requires a bit more. Hope that helps.

I've read people can confuse colds with some reaction to the diary milk with symptoms you described. I've given up dairy now for almost a month (excpet the rare occasion of a cheese slice on a sandwich) and I feel great. Not to mention I dropped a few pounds too.

2 liters of milk**********

What else did you eat? What did you do? The last time I got a cold I was wearing black socks. Must have been the socks.
