Carbo-loading drinks?

My first post in over 2 years! What is up with that? Actually, I have been off both road and mtn. bikes for some time and took my first road ride in a year today-woohoo! (been trail running).

Anyway, what carbo-loading/carbo-replenishing drinks do you folks favor? By carbo-loading, I mean like Endurox, etc. not gatorade.

I'd hate to be your sit bones in two days...ouch!
Anyway, did it feel good to get back on the bike?

I've been doin a lot of reading about Cytomax (sp?) I'll check and make sure...
Checked out a can of it today at the LBS. I might start using it myself...

I just started using the Endurox this season and I've been happy with it. I got a bulk buy with Accelerade (which I dont notice a benefit from). I've been trying to push the saddle time and have finally familiarized myself with the early waring signs of energy crash. For me, one serving goes with each ride over 3 hrs.

Speaking of sit bones...they felt a bit tender yesterday but today...PAIN! I figure they'll mellow out soon enough for another ride in a few days. I am so pumped to be riding again, what a rush! It's like having a new toy. I was joined by another rider early which helped me hold a faster pace than solo.

Endurox and accelerade is what I have been using. It is rather useful especially when now my fitness is up and progressing.

If you already saw this this in the Next Day Recovery thread, I apologize for repeating. Otherwise....

A homebrew alternative to Endurox offered by Joe Friel, author of The Cyclist's Training Bible, is to add 5 tablespoons of sugar to 16 oz of skim milk, and drink w/in 1/2 hour of completing the ride. You get the 4:1 carb : protein thing, and your tired body will suck up the carbs.

I use the homebrew formula after almost all of my hard work-outs. I use Endurox after the really hard and/or long work-outs.
