Leg cramp, bruise, muscle tear

A week or so ago, after a 50 mile ride, I had a bad leg cramp. Both legs were trying to cramp, but the left one cramped painfully along the inner thigh.

I didn't think much about it at the time. But over the next week, my leg was sore and tender. Especially if I had been sitting with my leg extended, it would ache when I started to move again.

This morning, I finally notice that there is some deep bruising which has appeared. I showed it to our company nurse today, and she said it was a small tear in the muscle. She suggested that I might have been dehydrated, and needed to be sure and get plenty of electrolytes on the long rides.

Has anyone ever had muscle cramps that cause soreness and aches for several week, along with bruising?

Yep, I wouldn't worry too much - just take it as a lesson learned. You were low on electrolytes/fluid/carbs, and paid the piper.
