I've got an F6 I've had for several years. Basically, I don't use any of the fancy features. A basic HRM that will tell me the max and the avg and how long I've been going at it are all I use. YMMV.

I have one. In a word, don't. It doesn't even have a stopwatch! F in the Polar line means fitness, and that means casual exercisers. Polar has something called Ownindex which is thoroughly confusing if try and reconcile it with standard fitness measures such as pace or VO2max. For the same money get yourself a Polar RS200 or the cycling version if there is one.

I got a deal on a barely used Polar S725X.

After programming it with my specs, I did the OwnIndex test and I got a " 2 " result.

=)

I can't wait to try it out with the interval training program. I also got the cadence sensor... still have not installed it on my bike... that will be later this week. 2morrow I will wear it on my commute to work and just work off of the heart rate readings...

I have a F11 and find that it works well. I use very few of the design features and find that I calculate my own training zones based on time trial HRs. This is the first HRM I have had (2 years), but would definatly get a cycling specefic one in the future, or at least a lap function on it. I use the Polar free web site to keep my records and it is neet to see how I have done over the past year.

Get a cycling specific model, if you will be using it for cycling!
