Reccomendations on rollers...?

Since it's getting a wee bit wet and chilly, I'm thinking about investing in a set of rollers; something that I can use to get my velofix on the days when it's not sensible to go outside without an anchor.

Any reccomendations on a decent set? I'm looking for something fairly inexpensive; they'll only get used a few months out of the year.

There are many companies out there which make rollers but I don't think you can beat Kreitler and I don't think you will find to many people who will disagree. The only downfall is that they are expensive but they will last you a life time and they are second to none when having to deal with warranty issues if there ever is one, which is highly unlikely.

Well worth it to get them in the first place.

Ditto. They make cheaper versions with PVC, but they are still on the high side of the budget scale. I'd ask if anyone you know uses rollers and then see if you can borrow them for a long weekend. I know a lot of people that hate riding rollers. They do however force you to become a better, read smoother, pedaler.

There is no question that there are brands of rollers out there that are tops. If your looking for something to just do the job The Performance Pro Rollers do quite well. Had Performance rollers for 7 years now and they get the workout done. Hope this helps

I, myself, actually do not like Kreitler rollers. When I ride rollers, I like to have a road feel to them. Kreitlers are so smooth (could be a plus or a minus) that they defeat the whole "real feel" purpose for me. I also don't like their price-tags!

I have a pair of folding Tacx brand rollers. The ride is much closer to the one of the road, and they were mid-range in price. They're sturdy and convenient in the folding model.
