Blew my diet tonight
That's right. I am on a "no 2nd helpings" type diet. The problem with me is that I just eat too much. I start in on something I like and don't stop until I've eaten too much. Tonight, I ate too much.
But I have justification! 50 mile ride planned for tomorrow morning. That's the longest distance I've ridden in about 8 years.
Dinner tonight was pasta. Sauce was olive oil, chardonnay, lemon juice, a little butter, salt/pepper. I added some packet cooked salmon (added some olive oil, butter, onion, salt/pepper, lots of lemon juice to the packet). So I had 2nds tonight for fuel for tomorrow's ride. The dish was outstanding. Even the kids ate (amazing, huh? they are 6 and 4 years old).
Tomorrow, back to the diet.
I'm looking forward to the ride. The most I've done since I started back up again (3 months ago now) is 37 miles. 50 will be a good workout for me. Wish me luck!
Mmmm that sounds great!! Well just acknowledge you made a mistake, learn from it, and move on. BTW, good luck with your ride tomorrow.
Don't be too hard on yourself. The world didn't stop spinning. That 50 miles is going to be fun.
I blew my diet last night, too. Except, I ate of the forbidden chocolate.
I don't know about these diet obsessions I keep reading about on here. When I was younger, real cyclists were famous for devouring everything in sight. Always hungry and still thin :-)
If I was riding 50 miles tomorrow, I don't think I would worry too much about dieting today (although I might make it carbs more than protein).
Post ride report: I feel great! Ride went well for me today. I was feeling pretty good for almost the entire ride. One 5 mi section with an in your face wind was pretty brutal, but the rest was good.
50mi. Avg: 15. Pretty flat.
I also lost a little more weight. That's good too!
I blew my diet everyday since the day I started... I also started riding my bike the day I started my 'diet'
I average 25-50 miles per day and dropped 18 pounds in one month.
I blew my diet this weekend. Went out to dinners/lunches with different people for my birthday.Its ok, I'll be back on it tomorrow
