I have often wondered if a pharmacist can tell us these things.

Well, it's probably not going to hurt you. But since gatorade isn't a great hydration drink, you end up worse off than if you just used the cytomax.

That's if it's the powdered gatorade. If it's the premixed with HFCS in it, it could lead to GI problems for some people.

What's the good idea in the first place?

Technically Cytomax and are formulated for different exercise scenarios. Cytomax was designed to slow glycogen depletion while supplying a mysterious "acid buffering" molecule to fight muscle fatigue.

Original Gatorade was designed as an inexpensive electrolyte replacement drink using sucrose and sodium to aid in maintaining hydration and mineral transport.

Mixing these two formulas defeats the specific purpose of each formula. If you want either of these products to work as they were originally designed then mixing them is indeed a very bad idea.

If you didn't already know this, then mixing them doesn't makes no difference at all.

In practice. athletes read directions and use manufacturers suggested serving strengths. Or if you have the bucks you can buy custom made sports drinks.
