Guys,

I currently live in the area where it rains almost everyday now...... i dont have any space now to do indoor training.... so should i just go out and ride my bike ? what does it do to my body ?

A wise man once said "there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." Get yourself some good rain gear and hit the road! As to what it will do to your body, shouldn't be much more different than riding on dry pavement. The only thing is that you will have to be extra vigilant about being seen by motorists and watching out for said motorists themselves. People have a tendancy to drive at least 10MPH faster in the rain and most do not understand the cause (or remedy) for hydroplaning. Be careful out there and have fun!

Yep ... go ahead and ride. Just be careful about the painted areas on the roads, railway tracks, and puddles. Painted areas on the roads and railway tracks get very slippery when wet. Puddles hide bicycle-eating potholes.

Rain itself will do your body no more harm than your daily shower.

And if you want a break from the rain, and some variety, join a spinning class.

I still did my usual 3 hour weekend rides in the rain as long as it was over 10 Celcius this spring, summer, fall. I would just do a ride of loops closer to home, so that if I got too cold I was only 10-15mins from home. You feel great after since most folks would just stay home. There is a sense of accomplishment that comes with it.

Depends on how proficient you are - how hard you can ride; how many watts you can generate. I get soaked on sunny days, too. Rain riding just means that you have to keep heating the water, so that means some wattage. I have no trouble down to about 35°F, even at a relaxed pace of 17 mph or so. The lower your wattage, the more important to use waterproof gear. I can't use anything waterproof, as I overheat badly. So shorts and polypro tights or just padded tights, weight depending on temps, on top a base layer, then a jersey of varying weight depending on temps, then a rain jacket, either something waterproof like Showers Pass or a water resistant microfiber like PI or Performance, or a PI or other wind vest. And booties and wool socks, and maybe chemical toe warmers. In warmer temps, summer jersey and shorts with arm and leg warmers.

The only real hassle is the extra time cleaning and lubing your bike and the chain, cassette, and chainring wear from the road grit. Fenders and mudflaps, if riding alone especially a front fender mudflap that comes almost to the road.

Rain riding is fun and only does a body good.

People do not dissolve. So riding in the rain will not hurt you. If the rain is cold rain, it can be a problem. I have found that I can ride in cold rain if I wear a rain suit - you know rain jacket and rain trousers. I picked up an inexpensive pair years ago. It looks like _____ but it does give good service.

There is another drawback to riding in the rain, your bike gets filthy. It is my custom to clean my bike and relube the drive train after every rainy ride.

well curentlly in my area its raining all the time and i just get my rain coat out and go riding but i use a mtb so . i know how much harder it is to not fall of on a road bike on corners especially if they have small bumps (wrinkles) on the corner ( i fell on a rode bike because of that so many times)!!!
