Appendectomy
I woke up Sunday with exactly the same symptoms (stomach pain that begins high and migrates south throughout the day) I had experienced on four separate occasions over the previous 8 months. The thing is, they were always 1-day bouts, my fever was never that high, and my pain was never what I would call severe. So, I had kind of put appendicitis out of my mimd. I went to the ER, and even the docs were surprised the CT scan came back.
Before going to the ER, I had delivered food for several hours by bike, and felt good while riding.
I guess I was wondering who else has had the same procedure (I had it done laproscopically) and how long it took to resume riding as they had before. How did you feel when you got back on? I'm trying to eat, but the appetite isn't back all the way. I'm 24, and otherwise very healthy. Except for my finances; I'm uninsured.

I had an emergency appendectomy when I was 17 - the full long-scar deal. Had to crawl a mile through the snow to the college infirmary. Couldn't stand up - body temp was down in the 80's when I got there. I was doing pushups beside the bed the next morning (nurse was a bit shocked) and back running in 2 days. I didn't bike in the snow. 17 was great. Dorm food got me, I think.

you got lucky, i went in with 102 degree temp, and ended up spending a week in the hospital. i thought it was bad food at first, boy was i wrong. i was not riding at the time, but it took me two or three weeks to get back out again, even at that it was easy going. mine had burst well before i was on the table, sounds like you will recover much quicker.
