Cyclo-club.com?

I've been looking into Cyclo-club.com as it was featured on The FredCast recently, and I wanted to see if anyone out there is already a member and can give some feedback on it -- what you like/don't like, if it's worth the $, if there are other comparable programs I should also look at, etc.

I've been looking for a good way to bring more structure to my training without spending a lot of money on a live coach or alternatively just trying to rely on a book, and from what I can tell, this seems to strike that balance, along with a recognition that for most of us training programs needs to be flexible (weather, commitments, etc).

If you're a member already or thinking about it too, I'd love to hear your thoughts -- thanks!

Cyclo-Club does seem to be a good compromise between developing your own training plan and hiring a coach or buying a full-fledged training plan. Not as complete as a coach's plan, but cheaper. (Like $100 per year for Cyclo-Club vs $250 per month for a coach...)

In the "Club" you get a lot of sample workouts which are good, as well as 7-day training plans that you could work into a long-term plan. If you have a specific goal at a certain time, you'll still need to do some organizing on your own though. It's not like getting a customized plan from your own coach.

But I think it's worth the money just for the workout videos. That's personally where I see the value.

Yes, Cyclo-Club is worth the money for the workouts alone, as BBS says. For off bike workouts, the videos and the way the different workouts are structured into training plans are much, much better than the pages of pictures that you find in cycling books. After a few months of using Graeme's workouts, I saw a greater improvement of my PB on my local mountain climb than I had seen on switching to CF. The great thing about the workouts is that they are very simple, and require a minimum amount of equipment. No need to join a gym!

The nutrition advice is very good too - completely changed my way of thinking about fuelling, making for much more comfortable endurance rides.

If you join and use the stuff that in the Club, you won't regret it. (By the way, there was a post on this topic on the Road Bike forum a few months ago - you might want to search it out - there were quite a number replies in this kind of vein.)
