I completely agree trekkie. I switched around from bar to bar until I tried Clif bars and fell in love. They seem much more like a decent granola bar than the pasty synthetic tasting ones. I like Lemon Poppyseed best, followed by Chocolate Chip and Black Cherry Almond.

I've been disappointed by the taste of Clif bars. Some Power Bars and Balance bars are ok.
Have you tried Carb Boom and Power Bar Power Gel?

I'm a big fan of the lemon poppyseed as well.
Also good:
carrot cake, cookies & creme, and chocolate chip peanut.

Clif bars are the only energy bars I have ever eaten, are the others really that bad?

I could never stomache the original Clif Bars. I did like the Iced Clif Bars but I wouldn't try eating those while on the move. They're a bit messy. BTW, it looks like they no longer make them. Anyone know what happened? Did not enough people like them?
The best tasting energy bars I've tried were the You Are What You Eat bars. I buy them by the box and they're not all that expensive. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot of flavour selection there. Also, although they're supposed to be for women, I have been known to steal my wife's Luna Bars from time to time. They taste pretty good. They're not really energy bars though.

Old thread but I couldnt help but post when I saw it. I absolutely LOVE clif bars. Black cherry almond is ridiculously good. I cant believe people still eat power bars, but hey to each his own, Im not gonna knock it.
And clif shots???? I could eat razz sorbet for every meal. Period. Its THAT good. Better than any candy Ive ever had. It reminds me of the candy they had when I was a kid (late 80s) that was this green apple or cherry-flavored gel that came in a clear tube, you squirted it out through a little hole in top and licked it off. Anyon remember what that was called? Razz sorbet gives me the same thrill now

Good tasting energy bar -- who cares! To me, eating on the bike is a necessary evil, kind of like filling up the gas tank. Just get it down and keep up the pace!

I have never found a real bad tasting Clif Bar. Yes some do taste pretty darn good. I wish Costco had a better selection of them. The 3 basics do get a bit old after while.
