Vegetables might be a good idea.

Longer rides would help. 2 miles of riding is like walking from the couch to the fridge. If you have time, try working up to an hour or rwo most days a week.

ericm said it all. Eat your veggies and work up to riding more than an hour a day.

The only other thing I would add is you should do some weight bearing exercise. I recommend that you lift weights 2 or 3 times a week. 20 to 30 minutes should be long enough. Also walk/run for at least an hour a week--in place of riding that day, perhaps.

Have you ever talked to a phys ed teacher, nutrition teacher or coach about fitness? It's a shame to waste all that high-priced talent. After you graduate, you'll pay plenty for personal trainers and nutritionists who are no more qualified than your teachers. And they're a lot more qualified to help you than me or most others on the internet. Believe it or not, most teachers ENJOY talking to students after class or during office hours.
