Outcome of Hammer lawsuit?
I'm not looking to start a who's lying, who's not thread here. I would just like to know if there was a verdict reached over the Neben lawsuit against Hammer Nutrition or is this an ongoing case? Thanks.

Seems to be something to do with doping. Just make sure you aren't taking endurolytes in an event where you might get drug tested. |
Product contamination is, in general, one of the lamest doping defenses on earth. Usually the athlete is guilty of taking something else and desperately throws an innocent company under the bus in an attempt to get off. It is odd that for as long as Hammer has been around nobody else has ever failed a test after taking Endurolytes.
The loophole is this - Hammer doesn't actually make their own product. I have a bottle of Endurolytes right here and it says "manufactured for: Hammer Nutrition." The company that actually produces the product for them could have used the same equipment to make an entirely product (that contained the banned substance) for an entirely different company and not properly cleaned everything out in between. Defense lawyers know this and use that possibility to cast doubt on the test results. |
I find it very believable. Considering the source of food ingredients these days, even ingesting cough syrup could kill you.

I don't know about the Hammer suit (I'm guessing it was settled), but contaminated supplements (contaminated with banned steroids) is a real problem. I'm remembering some IOC studies done a few years ago that showed that around 20-25% of dietary supplements they tested have banned steroids in them.
