Joint Pains

I've had joint pains for as long as i can remember. I've sprained both ankles a couple of times and my knees also hurt. I even get pains in my hand when it gets cold outside. I think i may have arthritis or really early symptoms of it. I went to my doctor, but he's an idiot or he's really lazy. He just keeps telling me i have growing pains, which might be true because im just a teenager, but i highly doubt it.

Anybody else here have joint problems? What do you use to treat it? Are there any natural ways like eating more of a certain food? Anybody use glucosamine?

Go to another doctor and get a second opinion, but hopefully the first one is right.

I used to do long distance running and moderate knee pain from it. I've also sprained 1 ankle but didn't have much risidual pain. Since i've started taking a glucosamine/chondroitin/msm supplement I haven't had a single day of even minor joint pain. I'm sure that's due in some measure to the fact that i'm not running 6 days a week any more but I feel confident saying the supplements have helped to some extent also. Just as a side note, I used to get horrible growing pains also but that was due to the fact that I didn't have enough calcium in my diet, if you really are having growing pains that might be something you want to look into.

^^^Yeah, my mom keeps telling me to drink milk to get more calcium.
Nelf, I'm going to see my other doctor. I think he's more reliable.
Also, one of my legs is longer than the other (more than most people). Do you think this has a lot to do with the problem?

Hi,
My Doc got me started on Glucosamine Sulfate. I take it twice a day.It helps. I have unequal length legs, and put a shim under the left cleat of my shoe. It helps. You can get custom cranks, but a shim is a lot cheaper. Brooks saddles also help a little with this.
Good luck.
