'nother numbness question

After a 50 miler, two weekends ago, I'm continuing to experience numbness even while off the bike. I've changed saddles, lowered my seatpost, and adjusted the saddle forward. All of these factors have made a difference, however, the problem has not gone away entirely. I've been riding/training consistantly for about 4 years now and have been commuting for over 1 1/2 years, without any real problems. In addition, the 50 miles was easy and the bike geometry felt perfect to me (in fact, with all these recent changes I can't get it back to where it was). I'm concerned with long-term effects but also want to continue riding since: 1) I like the commute, and 2) I'm training for two multi-day rides in September and October. Will I simply have to stay off of the bike for a while? If so, how long? Also, will anti-inflamatories like Ibuprofin help? I'm encouraged that things seem to go back to normal after a day or two of rest, but am worried about losing my conditioning too. Any advice, as always, will be appreciated.
