Power Bars=flatulence . . .why?

OK, here's a humorous subject--farting! I've found that Power Bars make me do that, and I'm wondering what's in them that causes that. Anybody have any ideas? If it's something commonly found in all energy-type bars, I may be screwed for finding adequate on-ride fueling. After all, I don't want to offend those behind me. So I'm wondering if this is a common phenomenon, or am I just weird in that?

I have the same affliction, but with any carbohydrate it appears. Check the thread on "carb farts".

Farting or burping are signs that digestion isn't optimal. If you eat the bars when you aren't exercising, does it still happen?

Anyway, I would suggest that you eat less more frequently. Give your stomach a chance to digest the smaller portion. Maybe a bite every 15 - 20 minutes?

Nutrition is such a personal thing for everyone. But the farting is simple ...bad digestion.
