Tyres for Turbo Trainer

Hi everyone,

I am pretty new to cycling so apologies if this is a stupid question!

I am about to buy a turbo trainer and I would like to get a specific tyre for the back wheel so I don't wear out my road tyre.

My current tyre is 700x23. Will this tyre fit my wheel:

(it is 26x1.75)

Thanks so much for your help!

Susan

Unfortunately those tires are two different diameters. I would stick with a road tire, typically people go with one of three options.

The first is a trainer specific rear tire like this.

The second option is to purchase a cheap rear tire from your LBS (or online retailer). There are a number of choices, too many for me to list here.

The third option is to use last seasons tires and buy new ones before you head out on the road again. I, like many others here, have a number of used tires that I consider not good enough for the road but fine for riding the trainer.

Hope this helps, welcome to Bike Forums.
