Joe Friel HR Zones with Garmin 305?

Hey guys,

I'm using Joe Friel's method of breaking up your heart rate zones (find Lactate Threshold and break into 7 zones based on his book). Unfortunately the Garmin Edge 305 computer only seems to have support for 5 zones. Can any of you tell me how you compensate for this? Do you just start zone 1 after where zone 2 would be etc?

Thanks.

I just made there be one Zone 5 instead of 3. At that point, I'm not really looking at the computer anyway. Plus, the decimals give you a good idea of where you are. Has worked great for me.

^ditto, it'll register your HR Zone in 10ths. I designated 2 displays until I got used to it, 1 for "HR Zone" and 1 for just "HR", now I just use "HR Zone".
