Calorie Tracker -- Alternative to "The Daily Plate"?

For the last year or so, I've use "The Daily Plate" on Livestrong.com to track my diet; initially to lose weight, and now to ensure a proper diet while I train for endurance events.

Other users may be aware of their recent overhaul of the Web site. I, for one, find this "new and improved" version to in fact be a step backwards. The site designers have introduced so many bells and whistles to the code that it has become a burden to input my data.

I would like to find an alternative, but Google-ing "calorie tracker" brings up way to many sites that look questionable. Any suggestions?

I like sparkpeople. It might not have as extensive database of comercial foods as others, but I find entering custom food very easy. The recipe creator is also pretty good, and with a click of a button you can add a serving to your food log.

I've alway recommended www.fitday.com. It is a great site and has a free section that is more than adequate for you. You can also enter custom foods and it'll store it for you. I've been using that site since it was first created many years ago.

I've been using the Calorie Counter Database - http://caloriecount.about.com/ with good results for the past month +. I like the 'analysis' portion displaying not just total calories, but also carbs, proteins, fats, fiber, etc so that I know how/if my diet is fulfilling my body's needs.

I tend to like have a means to input while on the go. So far the "Lose it!" application on the iPhone has worked great (30 lbs lost) for me. Also has a website for reports, but you can only enter through the iPhone.

+1 for LoseIt. I think you'd be able to use its reporting site on an iPod touch if you had a wifi connection. But, I don't know for sure since I have an iPhone. Still, it's entirely usable without a data connection, unlike most of the other calorie counter apps.
