Polar HRM readings are erratic

This unit is a few weeks old and it is already giving some off readings. I have the RS100 with the wearlink+ transmitter.
A few days ago it wouldn't pick up a signal until I had ridden a few miles. Tonight it had readings of 211bpm and 200bpm for a moment and then back to the 120bpm it was reading (beginning of a recovery ride).
Again after a few miles its working normal again. I'm 45 so I probably haven't seen 211bpm since I was 9 years old.

I have had issues with mine, my fix was to rinse it off really good after each use. I also wet the transmitter really good before each use. I have not had any issues since I started doing those things.

I too have seen reading like that, but I think that it's caused by radio interference.

hmmm. I am only wetting the strap with a few drops from my bottle. I will soak it next time.
I was wonder if it was due to my jacket. I wore a Sugoi Helium wind breaker and it was very windy outside. The jacket may have been flapping a bit in the chest.

Try wetting it more, make it a little tighter if it's loose at all, mine stretched a little in the beginning.

I have a Polar FT7. I get erratic readings once in a while, seems to be when I'm riding very close to power(?) lines... or secret government radio transmitters.
