Tips on buying used rollers

I know little about the rollers, but i feel like i would enjoy them more than i would a stationary trainer. There are 2 on craigslist in my area, one a TACX ($75) and the other guy says the brand is unknown but it's a PVC roller ($50). I'm not doing any real training, just biking indoors for winter.

From what i looked up about TACX they seem like cheaper models, and I assume the PVC one is a cheaper model if he doesn't even know the brand. The only wearing parts really are the bands, correct?

Pic of the TACX

thanks for your help

(my 6 yr old wanted me to add this)

The PVC rollers have been known to come apart with time. Mine did and I epoxied them back together. AFAIK the bands don't wear. At least mine hasn't in several thousand miles. So it just depends on what condition they're in. PVC rollers have a reputation of not being quite smooth. Mine aren't, but no biggie. I don't know what the Tacx rollers are made of.
