Hip Fracture after crash- Any insight on recovery?

I just had my first big crash and came out with a hip fracture. Anyone else have this happen and advise info on recovery time and ability to get back in saddle afterwards?
I am 52 years old and just fisihed the best riding year I have ever had, both speed and distance. Now concerned I may not be able to match or improve on it like I planned?

Nobody else is answering . . . I have a friend who fractured their pelvis and femur, messed up the socket, when a pedal broke. He's about the same age as you. He was training for PBP, bummer. IIRC, he was riding his trainer in a month or so, back on the road a couple months later, back doing group rides in another couple months. That was last PBP, so must have been '08. He's planning on doing PBP this year. It did hurt his riding. His pelvis and socket are not so good. His doctor told him not to fall again, so he has to be more careful. He's still very strong, though. Obviously rides brevets, etc. He'll eventually need a hip replacement.

Have you asked the 50+ forum folks. They discuss all kinds of injuries and health problems.
