Need to lose 10 pounds.

Hi, This may seem simplistic by perhaps complicated all at once..depending. But I need to lose 10 pounds for some Hillclimbs. I realize that this may be a little tardy into the season..but my season runs through October so if I can be down to 155'ish by then..that's fine too. I would just like to have a template to go by for now..and future seasons.

I'm 5'11-163-166...eat mostly organic foods..have a steady routine of eating Kashi cereal yogurt etc in the mornings..light snacks in the afternoon..and usually a dinner under 700 calories. And I drink mostly water.(no sugary drinks outside of my Cytomax during riding) I bike about 130-200 miles a week..and mostly focus on my climbing training.

Anyhoo...I can't understand why I cannot LOSE this last 10 pounds..I have tried a few different diet designs in the past..but possibly have not pursued them to fruition

To summarize..if anyone has a methodology..or diet plan..or ideas to lose these ten pounds...PLEASE come out with them. You can look at my pic..maybe it will shed some light of where to lose the weight and HOW...sigh.

You need to cut some calories or ride more. How about getting rid of the Cytomax? Most of your rides can probably be done with just water.

You may not like it but at 5'11, your current weight may be your ideal weight. Heck, drop 10 pounds in a hurry and it may end up weakening you to the point that at the end, you are actually slower on the climbs.

Anyways; lots of lean meats. Nutritious, and because our bodies are not as efficient processing them, for every 100 calories you eat, your body has to spend 20 calories digesting it.

If you have not done so already switch from 3 meals a day to 5 or 6. Every time you eat your metabolism accelerates. More meals throughout the day keeps your metabolism higher.

Photcyte, My waist is 31 inches; my hips-36. My ride time 'averages' around that..I would say a good 15-25 miles of that in a ride is uphill ALONE...as I do hill repeats..and that does tend to burn a higher calorie amount..hence my previous confusion. However, I do get in longer rides during a month's time. I average about 1,000 miles a month. Anyhoo I have read about Bradley Wiggins and how he went on a Gluten free diet, and a few others, and they some great success with it. Any thoughts on this? I don't plan on trying to push my body down to 4% body fat...but 6-7% I would think could be ideal. Right now I am hovering around 10-11% on my 'health-meter' scale. I understand as ABDON mentioned..I might already be close to my ideal weight, but considering my body fat percentage and other nutrition factors (as we've touched on) I would like to think theres a few pounds I could stand to lose still.

If possible, pick up running. You will burn calories faster than you can blink.
