Polar S720i question
I'm just learning to use my Polar S720i HR monitor, but there are a couple of parameters I can't figure out and can't find in the Help section of the program. On the "Edit Person Information" under "Test Values" tab - I understand what the "Maximum HR" and "Resting HR" are. However, what is it asking for when it refers to the "Upper threshold HR" and "Lower threshold HR"? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

This is simple.. One of the things that all polar HRs measure is time in your heart rate paramaters, time above and below..
So if you set the low at 130 and high at 170.. all time between these numbers is counted as time in your heart rate limits.. anything below 130 and above 170 are counted as below and above the set parameters..
You really need to know what you max HR is before setting these limits

Socal-
I know my MaxHR (166). Are the Upper and Lower Threshold values calculated from that value or just set arbitrarily? Thanks for your reply.

These setting should represent your optimum training zone. Some people like them real tight.. since you are 166 max hr, I would use 170 as actual max..
so a 70% to 85% zone setting would be 120 low - 145 high..
